김태선
金泰善, Kim Tae Son
born 1903 in Gowon-gun, South Hamkyung Province, died 1977

A politician who served as Police Commissioner, 6th Mayor of Seoul, and Minister of the Interior in the Rhee Seungman government during the post-liberation government. He studied abroad in the English Literature department at Northwestern University for two years starting 1932 before transferring to Wesleyan in 1935, where he earned his B.A. in Criminology and Sociology . He would later go on to study Journalism at Boston University. During 1932, as he started his English studies at Northwestern, he translated and published several poems from Claude McKay for the publication Samcheonri『삼천리』.
